St German's News - 4 October 2020

Welcome and Thanks - to Fr Chris Lee for presiding today.  Marvellous!     
Weekday Services - Resume from Tuesday 6 Oct onwards.                 
 Calendar - A calendar is being prepared as a fundraiser for charity and parish funds.  Many thanks to Richard Davey and Ron Cox for the images and artwork.   
 Ministry Areas - Our recent diocesan conference focused on a reorganisation of every parish of the diocese into ministry areas on 1 January 2022. Current proposals are that St German’s and St Saviour’s would join the Cardiff South MA along with the Grangetown Churches and St Mary’s in Butetown, however nothing has been set in stone as yet. The next few months will involve much discussion as to how we might move forward on this.  One priority for us is to ensure we, as the faith community of St German’s, stay true to our values and calling to be Christ’s presence in and for our parish, and to  mind each other in this process.             
Public Worship & COVID -  Please attend carefully to the safety instructions, posters and guidance from stewards and parish officers during the services. Face coverings to be worn, no physical sign of peace and Holy Communion under one kind only.  Please stay in your seats to receive Holy Communion.                  
50-50 Prize Draw - Will resume, with first draw taking place this week.  Hilary Lovitt is collecting money from this weekend for those who want to join in.          
 Gardening Club - meets on the first Saturday of every month.  All are welcome.         
Sight 2020 Direct - face masks.  £4.50 each with all proceeds going to this charity. 
Faith Nurturing -Next meets on Wed 14 Oct at 7pm.  ‘In Search of a Way’ by G. Hughes SJ. at 7pm via Zoom. Contact Fr Phelim.  We’ll look at final part of the book
