Lenten Giving - In normal years we have our Lenten Soup lunches on Fridays with talks to guide our lenten fasting and generosity. This year, in lieu of this, we are asking people to set aside whatever they would have normally given during Lent for a collection later in the year for Christian Aid. Many thanks for your continued generosity.
PCC Meeting - There will be a PCC meeting on Monday 15 March at 7pm. It will be on zoom as we are still not allowed to meet under tier four restrictions. We will look at future planning for St German’s as they prepare to join Roath and Cathays Ministry Area as well as building and finance updates. Any questions for this meeting should be submitted in advance. Covid Risks Update - We are advised to review and look again at our public acts of worship. Consequently, our risk assessment states people must adhere to social distancing and so go straight to their chair and at the end of the service leave orderly. Recent suggestions are that people leave row by row rather than all at once. Once outside in the carpark, catch ups and some fellowship is possible because it is much safer in terms of infection rates and chances of the coronavirus spreading. Lent Course - With the growth of online worship and formation there are many Lent courses and retreats available for people to follow and pray. There are a list of these available to choose from on our website. We will follow our pattern from last year and explore an Easter Course or Book Group and hopefully restrictions will have been eased to allow us to do this in person by then. Stations of the Cross - Are now available to be played during the season of Lent. Stations are available from St Saviour’s and also St German’s. Many thanks to Brian Williams for his recording of Cesar Franck’s ‘Stations’ for this recording. Charity Face Masks - These masks are made to order. All proceeds go to our church charity - Sight Direct 2020. Please see Angela for costs and details. Faith QI - Next meets on St Patrick’s day 17 March at 7pm via zoom. Each evening we explore a different topic related to our faith and spirituality - sometimes prayer, sometimes philosophy, sometimes theology. At the heart of it is a desire to understand and deepen our own faith. Recently Departed - Doris Ferdinand, Dorothy Rowlands, Margaret Underwood RIP

Benediction and Lent Reflections - Tonight at 6pm in St Saviour’s. All are welcome. Covid Precautions - Many thanks for all those who are heeding our covid precautions. As a reminder, once we enter church we go to our places and stay there until the end of the service. At the end of the service we leave quietly through the middle doors. It is only outside where conversations/fellowship is allowable. Recently, many individuals are gathering and catching up before the service starts which is against our risk assessment and if it continues may place our opening for worship at risk. Please help us stay open for the rest of Lent and Holy Week by abiding by our precautions and keeping socially distant from each other. Many thanks again for your forbearance, Fr Phelim. South Cardiff Ministry Area - Brief update on this after mass today by Fr Phelim. Easter Flowers - Order forms for those wishing to sponsor Easter Floral arrangements will be available from Gwyneth today. Anyone wishing to make a donation towards the flowers/plants for the Altar of Repose and Easter Garden please see Liz. Lenten Charity - This year we are supporting our neighbours at the ‘Oasis Cafe’ as they work with refugees and asylum seekers. So far over £330 has been raised by all those who attended and supported our two fundraiser Bingo events on zoom. We will continue to collect for this worthy cause during Lent. Thanks to Louise and Ross for leading the bingo. Mothering Sunday - Next week flowers for Mothering Sunday will be placed under your seats in advance of the service. They will be blessed before the final hymn. Lent Course - With the growth of online worship and formation there are many Lent courses and retreats available for people to follow and pray.
