Refreshments - No tea and coffee today after mass because our hall is hosting a large lunch.  Instead we will have some soft drinks and, for those who wish, freshly made Gins & Tonic. We will also do the same next Sunday. All are welcome.         

Nightshelter - With the winter fast approaching, our thoughts turn to those who are homeless.  We will again take part in the Cardiff Churches Nightshelter on Saturday nights during winter. We will have a meeting for all volunteers new and experienced on Monday 25 November at 6:45 in the Church. All are welcome.               

 Advent and Christmas Services - details of our services are on our website and copies are available at the back of the Church.                     

Candlelit Advent Carols -
Our annual service of carols and lessons for advent will take place next Sunday at 6pm.  For more details contact Geraint.                          

 Fr Keith Kimber - We welcome Fr Keith back to St German’s to preach and preside next Sunday.                                       Foodbank - Current urgent items: Tinned Fruit, Long life fruit juice, UHT milk, Rice Pudding, Sponge Puddings. Tinned potatoes.  For an up to date overview of the plight of hungry people in the UK please visit www.stateofhunger.org which is research and policy conclusions conducted by the Trussell Trust.                  

Concerts at St German’s -  There is a list of these events at the back of the church as well as a sign up page for those who are willing to help set up and tidy away.     

Book Club: Meets after mass on Mondays to look at Henri Nouwen’s ‘Return of the Prodigal Son’. We look at part 4 ‘The Father’ at our next meet on Mon 9 December.     

The Departed: Betty Morgan.   During our weekday masses of November we pray for all the Holy Souls.

Nightshelter 2019-2020 - We will again take part in the Cardiff Churches Nightshelter on Saturday nights during winter. There’s a meeting for volunteers new and experienced tomorrow Mon 25 Nov  at 6:45 in St German’s Church.                     

Church Heating - Please bear with us over the next few weeks as we seek to repair our boiler and make St Saviour’s warm again.  We met as a PCC last week to discuss our plans and necessary actions and church heating is our main priority.                  

Advent and Christmas Services - details of our services are on our website and copies are available at the back of the Church.                             

Candlelit Advent Carols -
There will be a service of carols & lessons for the beginning of advent next Sunday at 6pm in St G’s.  For details contact Geraint.                            

Fr Keith Kimber - Fr Keith returns to St Saviour’ s to preach and preside next Sunday.         

Flowers for Christmas -  to sponsor an arrangement please speak to Gwyneth.         

Christmas Cards& Charity - We will be creating a Christmas Greeting Display, where you can send a personal Christmas message and at the same time give a present to church via a donation envelope. This can also be gift aided if you are able. Donations should be given to John. Those wishing to make a charitable donation to the Nightshelter to support its on going running cost can give envelopes (provided) to Fr Phelim.                     

Benediction with Music for Advent in St Saviour’s on Sun 8 Dec at 6pm.

Winter Bazaar - Many thanks to all who helped at our bazaar yesterday both on the stalls, the set up and clearing away. Thanks especially to Richard for coordinating us all and keeping us sane! It was a great day of outreach and fundraising.

Holy Hour & Benediction - This evening at 6pm.  A chance to spend an hour in contemplative prayer with some chants from Taize, Rizza etc. All are welcome.

Winter Bazaar - next Sat 16 Nov at 11am. Please support us on the day and also in helping to set up and staff the different stalls and activities. If you have any ideas as to what stalls would work we’d welcome that.   Please see Richard Hill for details about the set up this coming Friday evening.

Faith QI - monthly faith discussion group next meets in St German’s on Wed 20th Nov at 7pm.  Our topic will be on the causes and impact of ‘The Reformation’.

Act of Remembrance - at 11am today at the war memorial led by Geraint.  It is open to everyone and we will pray and remember all those who gave their lives in wars and conflicts. Geraint will also play ‘The Last Post’.

Pilgrimage to Rome & Assisi - Meeting in the hall after Mass today.          

Holy Souls - Please forward any names of your deceased family and friends to Fr Phelim as they’ll be read out and prayed for tomorrow night at a special mass to remember all of the faithful departed.                          

Winter Bazaar - Sat 16 Nov at 11am. Help and items needed (no bric a brac).  Please see Richard Hill for details about set up the evening beforehand etc.

November Holy Souls - this month we traditionally pray for our departed friends, family members, former parishioners and all the Holy Souls who’ve gone before us.  Please hand your list of people you’d like prayed for to Fr Phelim. We will call all the names on our lists during the Tuesday mass.                     

Nightshelter - We will have a meeting for all volunteers, new and experienced,  on Monday 25 November at 6:45 in St German’s Church.                 

Congratulations to Rob and Yvonne for celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary.   To mark the occasion we will have cake after mass.      Ad Multos Annos.              

Remembrance Sunday - next Sunday with an act of Remembrance at 11am.         

Book Clubs: We meet after mass on Tuesdays. This Tuesday we look at chapter 2 (part 2) of Shortt’s ‘Does Religion do more harm than good? It is not essential to have read the book to join in as summary/discussion pages are available.          

Faith QI faith discussion takes place on Wednesday evenings at 7pm once a month in each church. Next meets in St Saviour’s this Wednesday 6 Nov and St German’s on 20 Nov. Next topic will look at  ‘The Reformation in Britain and Europe’.        

Boogie Baby - We are hoping to start up a toddler’s dance group with play activities on a Monday morning in St Saviour’s.  If you are interested in supporting or helping with this outreach to our community please contact Fr Phelim or Natasha natasha.quinnthomas18@stpadarns.ac.uk
