Public Worship & COVID - With the recent increase in the national R rate and a ramping up of restrictions and precautions from now on we will ask everyone to wear a face covering. We do acknowledge however that Some people are exempt from wearing theses for various reasons. Places of worship have been exempted from the indoor rule of six (at the minute) but it is likely as the Autumn and Winter progress that other restrictions or suspensions of worship may take place. For now, we are thankful that we can worship in church according to our tradition. Please attend carefully to the safety instructions, posters and guidance from stewards and parish officers during the services. Make and Mend - thanks again to all who helped and supported our grand day of cleaning, tidying and repairing parts of our church fabric. We also have a new group of Brass Cleaners who hope to meet each month. Open to all. McMillan Coffee Morning - We hope to have a coffee morning in aid of McMillan on Sunday 18th October. Details in due course but it will be socially distanced and observing current protocols. Harvest Thanksgiving - 11 October - donated food will go to Cardiff Foodbacnk. Back to Church Sunday - next Sunday 20 Sept 2020 - Our focus next week is on invitation and having the courage to ask someone to accompany us to church, perhaps even for the first time. We’d also love to welcome back old friends who we haven’t seen in a while. Please consider who you will invite and ask them. We have two extra services available next Sunday - an 8am said mass in St Saviour’s and a 7pm Benediction service at St German’s. Don’t forget to let us know in advance who will be coming. Make and Mend - many thanks to all who helped and supported our grand day of cleaning, tidying and repairing parts of our church fabric. It was great to see so many of our community helping out with great spirit and morale. A special thank you to the team who stayed in church late into the afternoon making and mending. Ordinands - Welcome to Ross Pilliner, ordinand for Llandaff diocese, who will be with us on placement during his training. Welcome back also to Natasha. Candles - Votive candles can be lit and then placed in the stand for whoever wants. The sides person on duty will light them before the mass starts. Sight 2020 Direct - St German’s chosen charity are selling face masks. £4.50 each with all proceeds going to this charity. Ordinands - Welcome to Ross Pilliner, ordinand for Llandaff diocese, who will be with us on placement during his training. Welcome back also to Natasha. Condolences - Our sympathy, thoughts and prayers go to Tracy, Julie and the wider Mansell family at this time as they grieve the loss of Phyllis. Our whole community will miss her sorely as she brought much light, warmth and humour to our church. May she rest in peace. Phyllis’ funeral will be on Thursday 10 Sept at 10am in St Saviour’s. Vigil for the deceased and reception at the Church will be on Wed 9th at 16:30. All members of St Saviour’s are invited but please contact Tracy in advance to let the family know you wish to attend.
