PCC Meeting - the next PCC meeting is tomorrow Monday 30 Sept in the Church. The meeting begins with Mass at 6pm and will be held in the church.              

St German’s Patronal Feast Day - next Sunday followed by Friends AGM & lunch.      

New Mass Setting - ‘Simple Mass’ arranged by Malcolm Archer music by John Merbecke. We hope to start learning it later in October.             

Gardening Club - 1st Saturday of the month.  Next meets Sat 5th at 11am.         

Book Clubs: We hope to look at four books through the course of the year.  We meet after mass on Mondays in St German’s (starts on 7 October) to look at Henri Nouwen’s ‘Return of the Prodigal Son’ and after mass on Tuesdays in St Saviour’s (starts on 1 October) for Rupert Shortt’s ‘Does Religion do more harm than good’. Copies will be available for those interested in coming weeks.                

Faith QI faith discussion group will be topical and will normally take place on Wednesday evenings at 7pm once a month in each church (begins 2nd October in St Saviour’s and 16 Wednesday of October in St German’s). If there's a particular aspect of church life and doctrine that interests you let Fr Phelim know.             

Autumn Confirmation Dates - Diocesan confirmation in the Cathedral with Bishop Philip North this  Thursday 3 October at 7:30pm.  Other dates are available with Bishop June: Sunday 24 November in Ely or Sunday 1 December in Llandaff Cathedral. If you would like to be confirmed this Autumn please see Fr Phelim.

A warm welcome to our new ordinand Natasha Quinn Thomas from St Asaph Diocese.         

Messy Church - is on Sunday 6 October at 4pm in St Saviour’s - theme: St Francis of Assisi.     Benediction and Vespers - in St Saviour’s this evening at 6pm.  All are welcome.         

Foodbank - Many thanks to everyone for donating 296.4kgs of food.  Urgent items: Tinned fruit, Long life fruit juice, UHT milk, Rice pudding, Sponge puddings, Tinned potatoes, Tinned fish, coffee and pasta/curry sauces.

McMillan Coffee Morning after Mass Sun 13 Oct - Donations of cakes and bakes needed!         Walsingham Festival - Sat 19 October, St. Mary’s  Butetown (for details see the poster in the hall).  Next year’s pilgrimage to our Lady’s shrine at Walsingham is from 20-23 July 2020         

Street Party - today from 1-3pm at the end of Railway Street to celebrate a tree nominated for an award. Celebrating community and urban nature. Open to all.

Proposed New Mass Setting for Autumn 2019 - ‘Simple Mass’ arranged by Malcolm Archer music by John Merbecke.  Brian is available to play it a bit more at the piano after mass again today.  We hope to start learning it in October.

Parish Lunch - Many thanks to all who helped last Sunday.  £210 was raised.     

Macmillian Coffee Morning - Friday 27 Sept from 10-12noon. All are welcome.

Messy Church - the next Messy Church is on Sunday 6 October at 4pm in St Saviour’s - theme: St Francis of Assisi.  We now need volunteers to sign up to list of tasks. If you haven’t experienced a MC session before why not pop along for a cuppa?

Messy Church - the next Messy Church is on Sunday 6 October at 4pm in St Saviour’s - theme: St Francis of Assisi.                                  

Sponsored Walk - Final figure raised is £635. Many thanks to the walkers and their support.

Faith Groups - We hope to launch again the faith and theology discussion group ‘Faith QI’ this coming Autumn.  We will also have trial a book club when we will read and discuss a book on faith and spirituality.  The first book to be explored is 'Does Religion Do More Harm Than Good?’ by Rupert Shortt, which looks at some  challenges to religion today by modern atheism and whether religious believe is still reasonable, rational and worthy of our commitment and respect.

​Festival of Faith - Saturday 14 September - All Saints, North Street, Shrewsbury. Mass at 12 noon.

Parish Lunch - After mass today.  We won’t have tea and coffee today because of the lunch. Still places available.
