Church Opening for Private Prayer - our hope is that St Saviour's will open this week for those wishing to visit for private prayer (pending approval from the dioceses).  The PCC has agreed that the opening times should reflect when our churches would normally be open each week:

Sundays       9-10:30am;
Tuesdays     10-11;
Thursdays   5-6pm
Saturdays   10:45-11:45.

N.B. There are strict guidelines on safety that must be followed by all visitors to church as well as those volunteering to be stewards supervising each opening time.

Geraint’s Ordination
- Our thoughts and prayers are with Geraint as he makes the final preparations in his vocational journey to being the next assistant curate of the parish of Llangynwyd with Maesteg.  As the old cliche goes ‘Our loss is their gain’.  We look forward to welcoming him back to St Saviour’s as an ordained deacon later in the year.

Sts Peter & Paul -  Please pray for all those training for ministry in our province and those currently discerning a call to diaconal and priestly ministry.  Pray too for all those who celebrate the anniversaries at this time to ordained ministry in the church.

 Parochial Church Council
- Next meets on Zoom this on 5 Aug at 7pm.

Prize Draw  Could those who have tickets (or sold tickets) please now return them with the money.  We are now gathering the prizes that have been pledged.  Again, see Liz or Fr Phelim about ways to collect this and, eventually, to distribute them to the winners.

Zoom Coffee Mornings  - St Saviour’s next meets this coming Wednesday 1 July at 10:30am.   If you’d like to participate please let Fr Phelim know.  If you need help on the day and time please call Fr Phelim on the landline.

Lift Up Your Hearts -  Spiritual Support
during the pandemic. This week’s reflections are from Jemima Thackray, a freelance journalist and part time ordinand.

Faith Nurturing - The next faith nurturing group will be a book group looking at ‘In Search of a Way’ by Gerard Hughes SJ.  This will begin later in July, on Wednesdays at 7pm via Zoom.

Church Hall
- No news yet when the hall can reopen or when we can allow groups to start using this.  The finance group will meet in July to discuss safely and legally opening the hall.

Memorial Garden - the garden is open every day for church members and local parishioners. We look forward later in the summer to (perhaps and hopefully) having socially distanced services in the garden as well as exploring future use socially of the space in the autumn.

Zoom Coffee Mornings  - St German’s next meets this coming Wednesday 1 July at 14:30.   If you’d like to participate please let Fr Phelim know.  If you need help on the day and time please call Fr Phelim on the landline.

Parochial Church Council - Next meets on Zoom this Monday 22 June at 7pm.  Usual updates will be discussed as well as lockdown transition and compliance. We will look especially at how we might respond to the latest news allowing our church to be open for private prayer with the processes and risk assessment associated with this.
Farewell to Geraint - Geraint is now in the final run up to his ordination as deacon and has been told to say farewell.  He has written a letter saying just that and expressing his gratitude.  Copies of this are available as well as on our website.  We hope to have a formal ‘do’ when we can all say a proper ‘thank you’ for his ministry with us later in the year when lockdown has eased.  In the meantime we wish him ad multos annos and every blessing in his future ministry.
Sts Peter & Paul - Petertide (next Sunday 29 June) is traditionally the time when many ordinands are ordained deacon & priest.  Please pray for all those training for ministry and those currently discerning a call to diaconal and priestly ministry.
Memorial Garden - if any church households would like a safe place to meet then St German’s Memorial garden could be a perfect venue.  The garden is open for local residents and church members each day.  There is a lot of work to be done in maintaining the garden as well as potentially getting it ready for outdoor services later in the summer.  Again, this will be discussed further at the next PCC.
Zoom Coffee Afternoon
- St German’s next meets on Tuesday 30 June at 2:30 pm.   If you’d like to participate please let Fr Phelim know.  If you need help on the day and time please call Fr Phelim on the landline.
Lift Up Your Hearts -  Spiritual Support
during the pandemic. This week’s reflections are from Chine McDonald, an activist with Christian Aid and trustee of Greenbelt.
Faith Nurturing - The next faith nurturing group will be a book group looking at ‘In Search of a Way’ by Gerard Hughes SJ.  This will begin in July, via Zoom.
