Walsingham - South Wales Pilgrimage to the Shrine of our Lady of Walsingham 23-26 July 2018. Accommodation/Meals & Transport £280 (£150 5-16yrs) Accommodation & Meals only £205 (£120 5-16yrs) Under 5s Free. To book your place on this year’s pilgrimage a non-returnable deposit of £20 is required. Final payment due: 1 July 2018. For more details please contact Bill or Liz. Anyone wishing to save for the pilgrimage should speak to Bill. Readings next week are from the Revised Common Lectionary for Creation Sunday. PCC Meeting - the next meeting of the Parochial Church Council will be: Tues 27 Feb at 7pm. Date of the Annual Vestry meeting in due course. Meeting with Bishop June and Traditionalists - this Wed, 31st January, at St Mary's, Bute Street. Clergy meet at 6:30pm and laity at 7:30. All are welcome. Choir Practice - 6 & 13 Feb at 7pm in the Church to look at music for Lent and Easter. Candlemas - 2 February 2018 - we welcome the Cathedral Choir for a service of Choral Evensong in St German’s Church. The service begins at 6:30pm. We’d really appreciate if as many church members as possible came along to support this service. Confirmation Classes - The next meeting will be on Thurs 8 Feb at 6:30pm in St Saviour’s. Confirmation is no longer linked to First Holy Communion and is for those who choose and affirm the promises made for them at Baptism. It is also open to adults seeking baptism. Ash Wednesday 14 Feb 2018 - Please return your palm crosses from last year in time for Ash Wednesday. Sung mass and distribution of Ashes at 7:30 pm in St Saviour’s Lent 2018 - Each week during Lent St Saviour’s and St German’s will celebrate the Stations of the Cross preceded by a talk on a Eucharistic theme. Details of days and times to follow. Lent Courses - St Martin’s, Roath will host a Lent talk by Mr John Guess on Thursdays at 7pm. Please see poster at the back of the church. Bishop June is also leading a Lenten course in Llandaff Cathedral on the first four Thursdays of Lent also at 7pm. Cardiff Foodbank - Urgent items: tinned tomatoes, fruit juice (concentrate), rice pudding tins, sponge pudding, tinned fruit. Not needed: beans, cereals, tea, pasta.
