Resumption of Public Worship - Our church buildings are now open and able to resume public acts of worship. Please attend carefully to the safety instructions, posters and guidance from stewards and parish officers during the services. During Holy Communion please stay in your seats and Fr Phelim will bring Holy Communion to you. Social distancing remains our key safety precaution. Face coverings may be worn, according to Welsh government guidance, but are not compulsory. We are not yet able to share communion from the chalice or exchange the peace. Recorded hymns will be played but we can’t yet sing along with them. Please see the side bar for times of services this week.
Funerals, Baptisms and Weddings- Are also now permitted but there are still very strict and separate guidelines for each service. We are preparing the risk assessment for funerals at the minute but not ready yet for baptisms and weddings (but hope to complete these by the end of August). For funerals the key changes are that no Requiem Masses are permitted as yet. Also, attendance at church based funerals is strictly by invitation only. Prize Draw - Hopefully will be drawn after mass next Sunday. (2 August) Condolences - to Yvonne Heynes and David French on the loss of their mother, Dorothy, who passed away last week. We pray for them and their families at this time. Dorothy’s funeral will be in St Saviour’s on Thurs 6 August at 2pm. All members of St Saviour’s congregation are invited to this yet it is very important that those intending to attend the funeral RSVP as soon as possible to Yvonne by phone or email. Foodbank - If you would like to join the foodbank team at St Saviour’s please contact the wardens. Initially, we are looking at a Thursday evening opening from 18:30-20:00. Faith Nurturing - Next meets on Wed 12 August looking at ‘In Search of a Way’ by Gerard Hughes SJ. at 7pm via Zoom. Contact Fr Phelim for details. We’ll look at chapters -4-6. Lift Up Your Hearts - Spiritual Support during the pandemic. This week’s reflections are from the Dr Carla Grosch Miller, a URC minister and practical theologian. Recently Departed - Dorothy French Joan Bennett, Beryl Olive Bridges (RIP)
