Next Sunday - Reserve your seat at St Saviour’s mass via Liz on 07718918846.
Covid Risks Update - We need to review our risk assessment on a constant basis. Consequently, we need to remind people that when people come to church it is not an opportunity for social catch ups whilst in the building. Our risk assessment states people go straight to their chair and at the end of the service leave quietly. Once outside, catch ups and some fellowship is possible because it is much safer in terms of infection rates and chances of the coronavirus spreading. Week of Prayer for Christian Unity - Normally takes place from 18-25 January each year. This year’s theme is Abiding in Christ. There is also an option for communities to celebrate this week of prayer in and around Pentecost which is what we will do this year because of the lockdown restrictions preventing a joint service or other ecumenical engagement. Faith QI - Returns this week on Wed 20th Jan at 7pm on zoom. Each evening we explore a different topic related to our faith and spirituality - sometimes prayer, sometimes philosophy, sometimes theology. At the heart of it is a desire to understand and deepen our own faith. Topics this year: Why go to Church, the Old Testament, God and the Pandemic, God talk in a digital age, Spirituality, Who’s in Charge - God, Power and Authority. Foodbank - Many thanks from Cardiff Foodbank to St Saviour’s parish for donating 283.5 kg of food from October to December 2020. Christmas Card fundraising - many thanks to all who supported our Christmas card display fundraiser. An amazing £598 was raised. Zoom Bingo - With the tier 4 lockdown we are exploring ways to support our parish community life. We hope to launch this later on in January with a Zoom bingo. If there’s a particular evening you’re interested in please let us know. We will play five games and proceeds can go to charity. We are hoping for donations of small prizes. Ministry Area - Our MA council reps meet with Bishop June and diocesan staff on 19 Jan at 7pm via zoom. If you’ve questions you’d like posed please see Fr Phelim. Recently Departed - Leonard Innocent, John Frayne, Kathleen Cartlidge, Violet Miller, Carol Jones RIP
