Cardiff Churches Nightshelter Many thanks to all who continue to support our Nightshelter. We’ve now been open for two nights and are pausing our collections of clothes etc. for now as your generosity means we now have more than enough for the next few months. For more details and how to help please see Fr Phelim. Mass Settings - Please bear with us as this year we are expanding our mass settings from the Murray setting (introduced mid 1980s) to a setting by Margaret Rizza (no. 955 in the hymnals). We will introduce this gradually beginning with the Kyrie and Alleluia today. Crib - Please support our crib collection which will go to a children’s charity. 8:00am Said Mass each Sunday in St German’s for our homeless guests and other helpers for the duration of our Nightshelter this Winter. Candlemas - 2 February 2018 - we welcome the Cathedral Choir for a service of Choral Evensong in the Church. Details and times to follow. Cardiff Foodbank - Urgent items: tinned tomatoes, fruit juice (concentrate), rice pudding tins, sponge pudding, tinned fruit. Not needed: beans, cereals, tea, pasta.
Baptism of Christ - Will be celebrated tomorrow evening at 6pm because we have translated Epiphany (6 Jan) to today. All are welcome. Christian Unity - the week of prayer for Christian Unity is from 18-25 January 2018. There will be a Churches Together joint service in St Alban’s Church on Sunday 21 January 2018 at 6pm. We meet this Tuesday (9 Jan) at 2pm in St Alban’s hall to prepare for this. Vintage Church - We are hoping to form a team of people willing to visit nursing homes, day centres etc to provide some spiritual support for those no longer able to come to church. Please see Geraint for details on this. Altar Servers - If you would like to join the serving team please come along to our next meeting which will be after the 6pm mass on Monday 29 January. It is open to all. Confirmation Classes - Will begin later this month. This year they will be on Thursday evenings after the 5:45 mass in St Saviour’s. If you would like to be confirmed or maybe even enjoy a refresher on the key teachings and aspects of our Christian faith please join us. More details next week. These classes would also serve for those wishing to be baptised. PCC Meeting - the next meeting of the Parochial Church Council will be on Monday 22 January after the 6pm Mass.
