Thank you - to Fr Keith Kimber who has kindly agreed to be with us for as long as we need during the coming weeks and months.
Interregnum - We are hopeful the bishop will appoint a successor to Fr Phelim who will serve throughout the new Ministry Area. Canon Stewart and the MA lay chair and Peter Lovitt have submitted a proposal as to why continuity of priestly ministry in St German’s and Adamsdown is crucial for our worshipping life and outreach to those in need locally. In the meantime from September the church wardens and the Area Dean, Fr Dyfrig Lloyd, will the first point of contact for any church related or PCC related matters.
Weekday Services - No weekday services this week.
Hymns: See hymn board each week for hymn numbers.
Farewell - Many thanks to all who turned up and supported the farewell to Fr Phelim and his family. It was a lovely occasion and we wish them all every blessing and success in the midlands. Fr Phelim adds: “It was lovely and humbling to see so many friends we’ve made over the past four years at last Sunday’s gathering. We were blessed with wonderful weather in the memorial garden and I am deeply grateful for all that you’ve done to support us as a family. It has been a wonderful, and ministerially fulfilling, four years and we pray that the next priest (God willing) will have as much support in friendship and ministry outreach as I’ve enjoyed. Thank you also for the many cards, bottles and very generous gift. We will miss you all dearly”.
Licensing of Fr Phelim - Fr Phelim will be moving next week and his licensing as area dean for Kings Norton, Mosely and Shirley in the diocese of Birmingham will be on Monday 13 September in St John's Church in Longbridge. If you'd like to attend please let Fr Phelim know.
Covid Risks Update - Despite the relaxation of most measures the CinW advises we continue with our precautions against infection and ensuring our churches remain as safe as possible for vulnerable people. Masks are still a legal requirement in public buildings (including churches) and social distancing is advised as are an ongoing assessment of risks by each PCC moving forward
Here can be a found a copy of the news items of events and services taking place in each of our churches. Sometimes there is overlap (baptisms, visiting the sick, pilgrimages etc) but mostly events are pertain mostly to one place.
