Palm Sunday - Weather permitting, we will begin our celebration today in the Memorial Garden. During the reading of the Passion special booklets have been prepared and many thanks to Geraint for printing them. There will also be Evensong and Benediction to launch our series of evening reflections for Holy Week across both churches.
Holy Week Services - We will need extra readers for the various services of Holy Week and it would help if people were able to complete the Holy Week readers rota at the back of the Church. The list of services for Holy Week are now available online and in church. The main change is that this year it is St Saviour’s turn to host the Good Friday Liturgy of the Passion Working Party - Please join us to help to clean the church for Holy Week and Easter will meet on Monday 15 April from 10am. All are welcome. Altar Servers - Will meet after mass today for a quick rehearsal for Holy Week etc. Open to current and prospective new members. Thank You - To all who attended and supported our lenten soup lunches and talks. £311 was raised for Christian Aid and of this £225 is eligible for Gift Aid. Vestry Meeting & new PCC - We held our Annual Vestry meeting last week (AGM) and the following were elected to the Parochial Church Council: Both Churchwardens continuing, Richard Hill and Peter Lovitt and: Suzy Alabere, David Alabere, Anne Cook, Michael Cook, Richard Davey, James Escott, Claude Evans, Rosemary Hicks, Hilary Lovitt, David Murphy, Angela Parry, Heather Ralis, Terry Sylvester, Taichia Ullah and Brian Williams. Social Events - Please sign the list at the back for our next social gathering, Parish Lunch on 5 May (Other dates: 25 May BBQ; 22 June Summer Fayre; 20 July Ceili Night). Easter Course - During the season of Easter we will have a course (similar to a Lent course) in each Church - Mondays after the 6pm mass in St German’s and Tuesdays after the 10am Mass in St Saviour’s. It is called Faith Pictures and is about helping us share faith and gain confidence in doing so. It starts on the week beginning 29 April. More details on our website.
