Farewell - Many thanks to all who turned up and supported the farewell to Fr Phelim and his family. It was a lovely occasion and we wish them all every blessing and success in the midlands. Fr Phelim adds: “It was lovely and humbling to see so many friends we’ve made over the past four years at last Sunday’s gathering. We were blessed with wonderful weather in the memorial garden and I am deeply grateful for all that you’ve done to support us as a family. It has been a wonderful, and ministerially fulfilling, four years and we pray that the next priest (God willing) will have as much support in friendship and ministry outreach as I’ve enjoyed. Thank you also for the many cards, bottles and very generous gift. We will miss you all dearly”.
Thank you - to Fr Keith Kimber who has kindly agreed to be with us for as long as we need during the coming weeks and months. Interregnum - We are hopeful the bishop will appoint a successor to Fr Phelim who will serve throughout the new Ministry Area. Canon Stewart and the MA lay chair and Peter Lovitt have submitted a proposal as to why continuity of priestly ministry in St German’s and Adamsdown is crucial for our worshipping life and outreach to those in need locally. In the meantime from September the church wardens and the Area Dean, Fr Dyfrig Lloyd, will the first point of contact for any church related or PCC related matters.
