Year of Pilgrimage - Many thanks to all who joined and supported the sponsored walk or cycle to Penrhys yesterday.  In this time of restricted freedom it was good (no matter the weather) to actually leave the city and visit the shrine and for us to pray together as a community.  It is something we’d like to build on over the next season.  It is still not too late to make a donation.  All proceeds go to St Saviour’s fundraising.
Assumption Herbs -
blessed and distributed after mass today.

Make and Mend -

Year of Pilgrimage - We had planned to go to Rome as in previous years yet this is unlikely for the foreseeable future.  Instead, we would like a St German’s pilgrimage day (or days) to take place. We have chosen Saturday 10 October to journey from ‘The Abbey to the Abbey - Llantarnam to Margam’.  More details in due course.
Next Sunday -
We welcome back Fr Jordan Hillebert from St Padarn’s, who will preside and preach for us.

Memorial Garden - Many thanks again to those who are currently maintaining the growth of shrubs and weeds.  We are also exploring more social use of the garden and especially now given the news that up to 30 individuals can gather outdoors.  If  you would be willing to join in to such an event please let us know.  Ideas so far: BBQs, Cream Teas, Pizza Nights etc.

Year of Pilgrimage - We had planned to go to Rome as in previous years yet this is unlikely for the foreseeable future.  Instead, we would like a St German’s pilgrimage day (or days) to take place.  One suggestion so far is to retraces something of the pilgrim journey of St German’ when he visited Wales (e.g. Margam, Llancarfan, Llantarnam).  Indeed, we may do a few of these trips if there is enough interest and perhaps ending back in St German’s.  Please let us know what you’d like.
The Parochial Church Council met last week (as did the finance team) to look at finances and church and mission priorities for the coming year. With increasing financial pressure we agreed our focus should wherever possible, be to combine service to the local community that is also self sustaining and raising funds for the wider mission of God’s Kingdom in this place. A list of priorities were made and key among these is the provision of toilets in our church building which will allow more groups to use and hire the church space as well as the hall.  Many thanks again to all who have continued to support us financially during these last few months.  It is deeply appreciated.
