PCC Meeting - the next meeting of the Parochial Church Council will be on Sunday 11 March at 1pm. The Vestry meeting at Easter will be on Sun 15 April at 1pm. Mass Settings - Please bear with us as this year we are expanding our mass settings from the Murray setting (introduced mid 1980s) to a setting by Margaret Rizza (no. 955 in the hymnals). Today we learn and sing the memorial acclamation. Candlemas - 2 February 2018 - we welcome the Cathedral Choir for a service of Choral Evensong in the Church. The service begins at 6:30pm. We’d really appreciate if as many church members as possible came along to support this service. Altar Servers - If you would like to join the serving team please come along to our next meeting which will be after the 6pm mass tomorrow, Monday 29 January. It is open to all. Confirmation Classes - The next confirmation meeting will be on Thursday 8 February at 6:30pm in St Saviour’s. Lent 2018 - Each week in Lent St Saviour’s and St German’s will celebrate the Stations of the Cross preceded by a talk on a Eucharistic theme. Details of days and times to follow. Lent Courses - St Martin’s, Roath will host a Lent talk by Mr John Guess on Thursdays at 7pm. Please see flyers and poster at the back of the church. Bishop June is also leading a Lenten course in Llandaff Cathedral on the first four Thursdays of Lent also at 7pm. Cardiff Foodbank - Urgent items: tinned tomatoes, fruit juice (concentrate), rice pudding tins, sponge pudding, tinned fruit. Not needed: beans, cereals, tea, pasta. Readings next week are from the Revised Common Lectionary for Creation Sunday. Walsingham - South Wales Pilgrimage to the Shrine of our Lady of Walsingham 23-26 July 2018. Accommodation/Meals & Transport £280 (£150 5-16yrs) Accommodation & Meals only £205 (£120 5-16yrs) Under 5s Free. To book your place on this year’s pilgrimage a non-returnable deposit of £20 is required. Final payment due: 1 July 2018. For more details please contact Bill or Liz. RIP Christian Unity - this week we pray for Christian Unity begins this week and ask God for an increase in unity so that we might acknowledge the reality of divided Christianity which is also our inspiration to work together towards mutual appreciation and healing after decades and centuries of division. To help us do this locally, there is a Churches Together joint service in St Alban’s Church this evening 21 January 2018 at 6pm.
